International Reports
This report seeks to highlight current sus¬tainability best practices, trends, oppor¬tunities and challenges among the ASEA member exchanges, in order to foster the sharing of experiences between stock ex¬changes, policymakers, listed companies and investors (capital market stakehold¬ers). Finally, this report proposes a road¬map for sustainability in African capital markets.

The WFE’s Emerging Markets’ Working Group (EMWG), consisting of WFE member exchanges, in cooperation with the WFE Research team worked on developing this report. Nearly 70% of the members of the World Federation of Exchanges (WFE) are located in emerging or frontier markets. This report seeks to identify factors that attract international portfolio investment into emerging market equities.

Member exchanges of the World Federation of Exchanges (WFE) have long recognised the importance of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to the economies in which they operate. To support the growth and development of these firms, many stock exchanges have established dedicated SME markets or trading segments that cater for the specificities of these companies. This report is based on quantitative and qualitative information of 33 SME markets at 29 exchanges across the globe.
